Agricultural and Forestal District Advisory Committee

The State enabling legislation requires the County to maintain an Agricultural & Forestal District Advisory Committee, consisting of a combination of agricultural and non-agricultural landowners, the County’s property assessment officer and one member of the local governing body.

Purpose and Duties

Agricultural and Forestal District Advisory Committee is charged with providing advice and recommendations to both the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors regarding the creation of applications and the renewal of Agricultural and Forestal Districts. Advisory duties include the withdrawal and addition of parcels to Agricultural and Forestal Districts and maintaining the County’s policies and procedures related to Agricultural and Forestal Districts.  Final determinations regarding district renewals and individual requests for additional or withdrawal are made by the Board of Supervisors.

Length of Term

Committee members serve four-year terms.

There are no term limitations.

Meeting Time and Place

Meetings are held on 4^th Thursday of the month at 9:00 AM or as needed, at the County Administration Building, 302 N. Main Street, Culpeper, VA.
