Commissioner of Revenue
The Commissioner of the Revenue is one of five Constitutional Officers, so named because their offices are specifically established by the Constitution of Virginia. Commissioners of the Revenue are elected to serve the citizens of the Commonwealth by establishing the value of property for tax purposes within their respective jurisdictions and applying the tax rates established by the governing bodies of the jurisdictions.
As your Commissioner of the Revenue, my Mission is to:
- Perform all duties prescribed by the laws of the Commonwealth and the County of Culpeper relating to the fair and accurate assessment of property.
- Provide courteous, competent, confidential, customer service to all taxpayers.
