The County Attorney advises and represents the County Board of Supervisors, County Administrator, County Departments, the local electoral board, and boards, agencies, and commissions which are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The County Attorney also represents County employees in civil matters which arise out of and involves their employment with the County.
The County Attorney does not provide advice, counsel, or legal opinions to private citizens. Criminal and traffic matters are prosecuted by the local Commonwealth Attorney.
