Established in 1998, the Culpeper County Public Safety Communications Center serves as the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), answering all 9-1-1 calls within the Town and County of Culpeper 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our staff consists of professionally trained emergency communications personnel who are committed to protecting and serving the community during emergency and non-emergency situations.

Culpeper County utilizes an L3Harris Public Safety 800 MHz APCO Project 25 (P25) Phase II Common Air Interface (CAI) Exclusive radio system. We provide radio communications services for the following agencies: the Culpeper County Sheriff's Office, Culpeper Police Department, Culpeper County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association, Culpeper County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and other authorized non-public safety (NPS) users.

We operate a Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) system. NG911 is an Internet Protocol (IP)-based emergency communications system that modernizes 9-1-1 services by supporting voice, text, video, and other data, providing faster, more resilient emergency response and enhanced situational awareness for telecommunicators and first responders. The Center also utilizes a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and an Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) program to ensure efficient coordination of emergency services.
