Check/Update Registration

To remain a qualified voter, the law requires you to notify the General Registrar of any change in your name or address. This must be done before the registration deadline for the next election. Please refer to important election dates for deadlines specific to the upcoming Primary Election on March 5, 2024 and/or voter registration deadlines for Virginia-specific dates related to all elections.

Update Your Registration Online

The Virginia State Board of Elections website makes it possible to update your registration name and/or address online. To do so, simply visit the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal.

Update Your Registration in Person

You can also update your registration name and/or address in person by visiting our office. We are located at:

**Pursuant to § 24.2-411.2 (F)(2), voter registration offices in the State of Virginia can neither request, nor document a voter's political preference or party allegiance. Therefore, you may not register by political party in Virginia.**
