Email Migration Info #2

Hi Team,

We will be migrating to Microsoft Office 365 exchange Online for email on Wednesday May 8, 2024 starting at 5pm. Thursday morning will probably be chaotic.

We will try to inform you of what needs to be done in advance and at that time via emails and posts on the intranet at:

or you can just go to the intranet and click on the NEWS link button at the top right. Consider this your primary source for information and procedures for the migration

Additionally there will be information posted on the public website under employee resources at:

for those of you who do not have access to the intranet.

These two sources of information should be consulted if you cannot get to your email.

Webmail will be available immediately following cutover by browsing to https://outlook.office.com (not our previous site of https://my.culpepercounty.gov USE webmail Thursday morning if you cannot get into outlook easily, and need to access email, calendar, or contacts urgently. Log in with your full email address and normal domain password (don’t use your Yubikey or county phone app code)

For the 250 of you who do not have Office 365 and who have not already signed up for Office 365 Multi Factor authentication, you can postpone setting up MFA for 14 days, but it will be mandatory. There will be a separate document on how to set up MFA, and Nettology support can assist between May 8 – May 15, and the County IT dept can assist at any time. However, we will be unusually busy on the morning of Thursday May 9th

Once enrolled in o365 MFA, The Microsoft authenticator phone app will prompt you to authenticate when logging in like this:

Where you will enter the number shown on the login page. If you have app lock on on your phone, it may also ask for Face ID, fingerprint, or PIN like you normally use to authenticate on your phone.
Again… MFA will not be mandatory immediately, but must be configured with the phone app (Microsoft Authenticator) within 14 days. If this phone authentication method looks familiar you are probably already enrolled in MFA for Office 365.

You can log in already at https://outlook.office.com to test but there will no email visible there until May 8 at 5 p.m.
