Email Migration

Culpeper County employees,

As you may be aware, we are working to migrate our current email system from Exchange Server to Microsoft 365. Our goal is to ensure the smoothest migration experience possible.

What you need to know:

  • Email services will be cutover from Exchange Server to Microsoft 365 on May 8, 2024
  • From the cutover date forward on, all email to culpepercounty.gov will flow through Microsoft 365
  • Once mail is cutover to Microsoft 365, you will no longer use Exchange Server to access your culpepercounty.gov email
  • Webmail will be available immediately following cutover by browsing to https://outlook.office.com
    • Users need to login with their full email address and password
  • Users can also use the Outlook application on their computers or phones immediately after cutover by following the instructions in the guides linked below
    • If you currently use Outlook, you may need to create a new profile following the guides below
    • If you have trouble setting up the Outlook application, we will be available to assist.
  • Please note that immediately following cutover and up to 6 hours after, your email may be out-of-date by a week or so, this is to be expected while the mail program on your device downloads your new inbox.
