By Judges in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations / General District / Circuit Court located in Culpeper County. CCCJS will also accept valid transfers from other in state community corrections program. 

The usual conditions often include the following:

•    Keep the peace, be of good behavior, and not violate any municipal, county, state, or federal laws and ordinances. 

•    Follow CCCJS staff’s instructions and be truthful and cooperative 

•    Not to illegally use, possess, or distribute narcotics, dangerous drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia. 

•    Meet with your local probation officer as instructed 

•    Comply with all court ordered requirements 

Good behavior, when ordered by the court, means that you will keep the peace and not violate municipal, county, state, or federal laws or ordinances.

  • Proof of Residence: You must submit documentation to verify the address where you physically live. (VA Driver’s License, residence lease, recent mail, or other identification with current address). 
  • Proof of Employment/School: You must submit documentation to verify your employment or school attendance (pay stubs, direct deposit slip, check, or school schedule with student registration). 
  • Probation Supervision Fee: You are required to pay a supervision fee for your placement with CCCJS. The fees are due within 30 days of your intake appointment in the form of a money order or cashier’s check made payable to the Treasure of Culpeper County.  Fees vary and will be discussed with you at intake 

Pretrial supervision has been ordered by a judicial officer as a term of your release on bail. If you fail to comply your bail can be revoked and a capias can be issued for your arrest resulting in a return into custody.

CJS follows the County policy on closures. So, if the County is closed, then CJS will be closed. If you have a scheduled appointment and inclement weather occurs, then you should contact your officer the next business day to schedule another office visit. Pretrial supervision exists to ensure compliance with terms of bail and to ensure you attend all court hearings.

Please bring a valid ID if you possess one, verification of your residence, and a copy of your recognizance/release paperwork. Additional documentation may be requested depending on your case.

When your case is finalized by the court. Reporting schedules depend on your specific situation but typically range from once per week to once per month. Reporting details will be explained at greater detail during the intake. Your officer will attempt to accommodate your schedule within agency guidelines.

Offenders who are 18 years old, or considered an adult at the time of conviction, of a misdemeanor or a non-violent felony for which the court may impose a jail sentence (in accordance with Virginia Code 19.2-303.3)

The judge or magistrate deemed it necessary for you to be supervised while your case (s) is pending trial due to your specific situation including the charging offense.
