Term expires 12/31/2023 - “Mr. Deal proudly serves as the Culpeper County Board of Supervisor's Chairman and has served the West Fairfax District since January 1, 2016. After 16 years he retired as Loudoun County’s Engineering Quality Assurance Manager. Mr. Deal also worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) for 24 years as Transportation Engineer and Land Acquisition Real Estate Specialist.
He is passionately involved with the youth of the community through recreation, education and leadership. He founded the Culpeper Youth Leadership program in 2016 and coaches and leads several recreational youth programs.
Today, Mr. Deal serves on the Building & Grounds Committee, Personnel Committee as Chairman, Public Safety (Alternate), Public Works (Alternate), Rules Committee, Town/County Interaction as Chairman, Career Partners (Alternate), Chamber Board (Alternate), CEDAC (Alternate), High Growth Coalition, Human Services Board, Library Board (Alternate), Parks & Rec (Ex-Offico), and Piedmont Workforce Network (Alternate).
Mr. Deal assisted in leading Loudoun County’s Building & Development through Loudoun's growth period. He was involved diligently in the many fast track Economic Development projects including the Howard Hughes Medical Center and Salamander Inn at Middleburg. He also served 2 years on the Culpeper County Planning Commission.
Mr. Deal enjoys tennis, golf, basketball, and coaching. He was a certified tennis professional in the 80’s won many local and regional tournaments. Mr. Deal has coached and mentored kids and young adults during the course of 30+ years of youth development.
He was born and raised in Culpeper and is proudly married to Melissa Deal of 20 years, who is a social worker at The Culpeper.
