Starting in September 2009, the Culpeper County Treasurer’s office will begin the assignment of delinquent personal property tax accounts to the collection firm of TACS (Taxing Authority Consulting Services, P.C.). The tax accounts that will initially be assigned to TACS are those accounts with unpaid personal property tax balances that have been due for more than two years.  A 20% fee to be added to the delinquent accounts assigned to a collection agency or attorney.  In this way, the costs of collection are borne by the delinquent taxpayer and not by tax-abiding citizens.

To avoid the assignment of their delinquent account, taxpayers must take prompt steps to resolve their tax obligations. To review your accounts, please contact the Culpeper County Treasurer’s office by telephone (540) 727-3442, FAX (540) 727-3478 or e-mail David DeJarnette, Treasurer ddejarnette@cul ... Read More »

Sometimes jobs are measured in small circles raked into the in-field mix around a home plate, or perhaps it is measured in the visual pleasure of seeing a well-groomed outfield. On most weekdays, the Culpeper Sports Complex’s 22-acres of sports fields can be a rather solitary place. Sure there’s the smell of the grass, an occasional refreshing burst of water from an irrigation nozzle along with the chirping sounds of Purple Martins---- but the mission is clear each day.

During a typical year thousands of children, teens and families play on the complex’s baseball, softball, football and soccer fields.
