Come on out for the 8th Annual Wicked Bottom 5K and experience the fun everyone had last year!

The run starts from the lush grounds of Old House Vineyards. Passing the rows of vines and following the gravel road, runners will hop across Old Stevensburg Road and bound into one of Culpeper's little secrets - Lenn Park. The trail will wind along the border of the park property in view of Mountain Run Creek, then loop back ending at the vineyards. The course is fairly level with only a few short hills and with luck, you may catch a glimpse of wildlife.

Awards will be provided to the overall male/female finishers, and to 1st - 3rd place finishers in 11 different age groups of: 14 and under, 15-19,20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60+.

Don't forget the kids! A 1/2-mile fun run through the vineyards will be held prior to the start of the 5K.  The 1/2 Mile fun run is open to kids and Adults.

Mom & Dad...while you're running KidCentral will be on site providing entertainment for the kids in the form of games and crafts.

2016 Wicked Bottom Cross Country 5K and ½-mile Fun Run - Post Event

The rain held off!!!  After about 7 days of light to heavy rain straight, the sun broke free and shone down on the Wicked Bottom 5K!

Thanks to JD Cubbage and the cubCam for volunteering and taking awesome video footage of the event.

This year was our largest event yet with 255 registered participants for the 5K and 15 for the ½ mile. Once the race was complete runners & walkers were able to enjoy yoga with Pranapiloga, a massage with the students from Eastern Virginia Career College and of course the wonderful wine tastings of Old House Vineyards.

Results are here!

We processed 229 race times by hand – no computer help and, unfortunately, there were a few errors while presenting medals on Saturday.  These errors have been corrected on the posted results.  If you placed, and did not receive a medal, please contact us and we will have your medal for you to pick up.

We are already planning for next year.  To make next year better, we would really like to have your opinion.  If you could take just a few minutes to complete an evaluation of the event – tell us what you liked, and what you think we can improve upon.  We would greatly appreciate it.

This event is put on by the Culpeper County Parks & Recreation Department – which consist of just 5 people.  We rely heavily on awesome volunteers to make the day of the event go smoothly.  A huge thank you goes out to all of these amazing people.

Thanks also goes to our 2016 Event Sponsor:

Battlefield Automotive Group
