Volunteers are an integral part of the Parks and Recreation Department. Citizens like yourself volunteer their time to teach classes, help with special events, work at the parks helping with gardening and maintenance, and much, much more.
In Fiscal year 2007 (July 2006-June 2007) the Department was excited to receive 3,966 hours volunteered by the community. These volunteers saved the department $79,320.00.
